What is a line?

This is an interesting brief because this is such an open question. So far I have been looking at simple and effective line drawings, I cant say why but this one is a fave:

I don't know what purpose this illustration was intended for but I do like the simple but precise style. This defiantly says 'line' to me.




I have also been looking at drawing made from ONE continues line, The most advanced of these involve using computer algorithms and are called TSP art. this takes a bit of planning and knowledge to achieve but I think the results are almost hypnotic and I would love to have a proper go at one of these:

I am going to do a lot more reading about these because I think this could be a way of making some quite striking graphic work
